Working in a record shop trains the ear, and Princess P, based in Bern, is proof. For years she worked at Plattfon Records in Basel, one of Switzerland’s best record stores, helping shape its buying and selling. That education shows behind the decks. She plays with aplomb, surprise and flexibility, from Zukunft in Zurich and Elysia in Basel to the Montreux Jazz Festival. Her sets are rooted in the past but firmly in the present, built on savoury house with a touch of indie and techno, and always happy to leave the beaten track. Since 2020 she has hosted a monthly residency on Mutant Radio Tbilisi with Cio from Spezialmaterial, playing music beyond the dancefloor. She recently released an acclaimed vinyl compilation with Mental Groove Records.
